Fiona Gill Shares Her Debut Picture Book,

‘I'll Be There’

Children’s author and illustrator Fiona Gill is bringing her debut picture book, “I’ll Be There”, to life for young readers through special library visits and author days.

Written for children aged 4–8, this gentle and heartfelt story explores how we cope with the loss of a loved one. With her endearing hedgehog characters and tender illustrations, Fiona helps children see that love stays with us, even after someone we love is gone.

What To Expect:

  • Storytime with Fiona – hear “I’ll Be There”read aloud, a moving but comforting tale of love, loss, and memory.

  • Behind the Story – Fiona shares how she created her hedgehog characters and brought their world to life through words and pictures.

  • Creative Conversation – children can ask questions and explore how books and illustrations can help us understand big feelings.

These visits are a warm, meaningful way for children to connect with a story that helps them make sense of emotions, while also discovering the magic of storytelling and illustration.
